From stationary and retractable awnings for commercial and residential properties to roller curtains, shade screens, boat covers, and truck tarps, products are built from top of the line specialty fabrication shipped from around the world. Specialty Trim & Awning is also a provider of industrial covers, agricultural shade screens, and contract sewing for many Fortune 500 companies. After becoming certified Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC) in 2002 by the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), owners Jerry Margrave and Debbie Margrave continue to provide quality service since its establishment in 1947. Established in 1947.Specialty Trim & Awning Inc. has been locally owned since 1947. Owners Jerry and Debbie Margrave bought the business in 1979. Jerry’s story is literally one of working from the ground up. In 1968, Jerry would walk to Specialty Trim & Awning after school to sweep the floors. Today, as president of the company, Jerry oversees each and every job from start to finish.In 2002, Jerry applied to become a certified Master Fabric Craftsman (MFC) with his thesis on ‘The Development of an Awning.’ Jerry was accepted into the program after passing exams conducted by the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI). Recognizing individuals in the industry with hands on skills, knowledge, and experience, the association currently lists only 250 certified Master Fabric Craftsman in the world since its implementation 35 years ago. Today, Jerry maintains his membership by moderating classes, judging new applicants, mentoring, and attending educational forums at annual IFAI conferences.
