Established in 1989.Overhead Door Company of Salinas was started by Hampshire Construction in 1981.Hampshire recruited Robert Hurkmans from the Overhead Door Corporation manufacturing plant out of Sacramento, Ca. to take over the garage door division of the company in 1982.Robert built the company from one employee to twenty-two, purchasing the company in 1992. Robert and his wife Linda have owned and operated the company ever since, creating a strong knowledge base amongst the employees for all garage door products available.We proudly share our Overhead Door name with our 450 Distributors coast to coast. Independently owned and operated Overhead Door Company of Salinas, Inc. is a Full Service Door company. Overhead Door Corporation pioneered the garage door and operator industry by founder C.G. Johnson in 1921 producing the first upward acting door and the electric operator in 1926.
